Accident Kills Truck Driver Along Hwy 59 South of Wright
WRIGHT, WY. – According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Randy Starkey, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Jan. 10, a semi tractor-trailer belonging to Doman Farms was broke down alongside the northbound lane at approximately mile marker 29, nearly 50 miles south of Wright.
A 41-year-old male in a pickup was also traveling northbound. As the pickup passed the semi, the driver of the semi stepped into the roadway and was struck by the pickup. The North Dakota man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene of the crash.
Highway 59 was closed from Reno Junction to Douglas from 6:30 to 10 a.m. while troopers investigated the crash.
This is the fourth fatality on Wyoming Highways in 2019. Last year at this time, there had only been one fatal crash.
