Cheyenne man convicted of stealing from ATMs sentenced to probation
Cheyenne, WY. – On Monday a federal judge sentenced Cheyenne resident, David Netterfield, to three years of probation and ordered him to pay $59,000 in restitution for stealing over $150,000 dollars from ATMs.
Prosecutors in the case had pushed for a prison sentence but the judge settled on probation.
Netterfield was previously employed by an armored truck company, and says he took the money to create a rainy day fund that would help make his life better.
Netterfield reportedly told the judge that he regretted what he did and would work to make himself a better person.
