Jodene Marie (Dixon) Branscom, 54
The Bible says that every good and perfect gift is from above. The gift of life and life everlasting is what we praise and thank God for as we say ‘See you in Heaven’ to Jodene Marie (Dixon) Branscom. Jodene went to be with her Lord and Savior, September 28, 2016 at her home with her loved ones surrounding her.
Jodene Marie Dixon was born September 15, 1962 to Dennis and Marlene (Beckfield) Dixon in Newcastle, Wyoming. She was welcomed by her older brother Dwight and sister Denette. A few years later, she helped welcome a baby sister, Patty. The family of six ranched west of Newcastle on the Cheyenne River, until moving to town when Jodene was in the 6th grade. Throughout school she was active in basketball, cheerleading, FHA, 4-H, and track. She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1980, the same year she met her love Clay Branscom. Jodene then moved to Sheridan to attend Sheridan College, where she graduated from the Dental Hygiene school as an Outstanding Clinical Student in 1982. For the next 30 years, she was a devoted dental hygienist at Black Hills Dental.
After graduating and starting a career, Jodene and Clay shared their love and commitment to each other on November 2, 1985. From there, together, they built their home and started establishing their own ranch outside of Osage. From that union, came two daughters, Taren and Lindsey. As a mother and wife, she was determined to love her family to the utmost of her ability and to share and grow in her love of Jesus with them.
Whatever Jodene decided she was doing that day, she did with her whole heart. She loved being outside doing ranch work, being in the garden, planting flowers, and just enjoying God’s great creations. Her love of photography was seen when Clay and her would be driving down a county road; she would make him pull over to capture the moment a bald eagle was on a fence post or a baby calf that was almost hidden by a sage brush. Her love of photography flourished when she became a Grammy to Hadley and Rainey; they became her pride and joy as well as the main subject of her photos.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Clay, daughters and son-in-laws, Taren and Joel Olson, and Lindsey and Craig McConnel; her two precious granddaughters Hadley and Rainey Olson; her mother, Marlene Dixon; brother Dwight (Kim) Dixon; sisters Denette (Steve) Price and Patty (Tim) Drum; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Crouch Auditorium, Newcastle High School at 4:00 PM. A memorial will be established in her name.
