Longhorns remain undefeated after a Monday game with Belle Fourche
Newcastle, WY. | Jay Whitney – Newcastle Longhorns remain undefeated after a Monday evening game against the Belle Fourche Bombers. The Bombers drew first blood by scoring in the first inning. The Lorghorns tied the game and then took the lead for good in the 3rd inning, adding 6 runs for a 2 to 8 lead. Both teams played strong defense, the Belle Fourche pitching held the Longhorns scoreless for the rest of the game, while the Newcastle infield turned 4 double plays, and picked off 2 runners trying to extend plays. The Bombers did manage to score 4 more runs in the game, but ultimately came up short 6 to 8. Newcastle used 4 pitchers in the contest, with veterans Ryan Oliver and Sawyer Roberson pitching first 3 and 4 innings respectively, and newcomers Grant Darrow, and Cameron Williams finishing the game with one inning each.
