Obituary for Emily Ann (Weeg) Covey
RAPID CITY, SD. | NEWCASTLE – Emily Ann (Weeg) Covey, 37, passed away on Feb. 15, 2020, in Rapid City, S.D.
Emily was born Aug. 11, 1982, in Newcastle, Wyo., to Darla (Krank) Weeg and Roland Weeg. She attended school in Newcastle, before finishing her education and training at Job Corps in Nemo, S.D.
On Feb. 18, 2005, Emily married Whitney Covey in Mitchell, S.D. She was the mother of two beautiful children, Isiah and Ilisah Covey. After Emily and Whitney divorced, she returned to Newcastle, and later moved to Rapid City.
Emily loved archery and could often be found at the archery range working on her skills. She was an outdoor enthusiast, who loved hunting with both a rifle and a bow. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with family and friends.
Emily is survived by her children, Isiah Covey of Newcastle and Ilisah Covey of Rapid City; her mother, Darla (Kevin) Ridl, Casper, Wyo.; father, Roland Weeg of Newcastle; brothers, Bruce (Alma) Weeg of Newcastle and David and Cody Hill, both of Rapid City; grandparents, Roy Weeg of Newcastle and Rosie Cooley of Newcastle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Beverly Weeg, and her maternal grandfather, Virgil Krank.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on March 7 at 11 a.m. at the Cambria Baptist Church located at 19 Stampede Street in Newcastle. A reception will follow at the VFW hall.
