Simplify Your Life Week Day 1

August 6th marks the start of Simplify Your Life Week for 2018. Here at, we would like to encourage everyone to take a moment this week to try and find ways to simplify their life.

Each day this week, we will offer up tips, tricks and methods, that are both easy and fun, that can help you reach the goal of simplifying your life.

The first two ways you can simplify are to ‘Make Time’ and to ‘Declutter’.

Make Time:

One of our favorite saying as humans is “I don’t have time”. I know you have heard someone or even caught yourself saying this at least once in your life. It’s time to change that. Here are two suggestions on how you can find that time.

You can go to sleep a little earlier than your normal bed time, that way you can wake up earlier and find the time you have been missing for so long. With that extra time you find, take a moment to reorganize the way you spend time. After all time is our most valuable resource, it is a good idea to make sure you are spending it wisely.

Cut out some or all of the time spent around the T.V. or take some time off of your daily chores. Instead of washing clothes everyday, clean them every other day. You clothes will last longer, and you may find more time to spend on those things you usually “don’t have time for”.


Some say cleanliness is next to Godliness, and that doesn’t just mean your living conditions. Suggestion two is to de-clutter your space and your mind.

De-cluttering your living conditions can be extremely important, it can help you to better organize your time, and to live a less stressful life. While de-cluttering your living space can be very helpful, We also want to discuss de-cluttering your mind.

Have you ever laid in bed thinking about what you didn’t get done at work? How about that bill you forgot to pay, or the field trip your kids are going on that you didn’t pack for? Those worries can keep you up all night, making your morning absolutely miserable. No sleep and a cloudy mind will increase your stress levels and could make you more irritable throughout the day.

Decluttering your mind will help you avoid stress and irritability. If you take the advise of ‘Making Time’ you can prevent having those worries while you lay in bed at night. You can also take a moment in your day to detoxify those thoughts. Find solutions to problems that keep circling your mind. That way you can clean some of the storage building up in your thoughts and mind.

De-cluttering your mind can also be done by learning how to forgive. Haven’t talked with a person in a long time, because of an argument? Give them a call and settle your differences. Having those situations on your mind all the time, really clutter-up the mind and the spirit. When you detoxify those thoughts, you will be able to fill your thoughts with more important issues and tasks.
