The following is a message from Weston County School District #1 Superintendent, Brad LaCroix:

“I wanted to share with you an update from the Governor and Superintendent of Public Instruction regarding the state’s course of action after the Governor’s current orders expire after April 30th.

Weston County School District # 1 will remain closed until the end of the 2019-2020 school year. We will continue to educate students according to our adaptive or distance learning plans.

Superintendent Balow did share that under guidance from the Wyoming Department of Health schools may work with their county health officers on possible variances for students in the greatest need as long as adherence to proper guidelines are followed. We will continue to explore the possibility of seeking such approval in a very limited capacity.

I would like to reiterate that a request of this nature would originate through a discussion with your building principal who will then pass it to me and the final approval would come from our county health officer.”

Respectfully,
Brad LaCroix, Superintendent
