Man Accused in Laramie GOP Headquarters Fire in Custody
LARAMIE, WY. (AP) — A 27-year-old man charged with setting fire to a Wyoming Republican Party office in Laramie is in the custody of U.S. marshals.
A preliminary hearing in federal court was scheduled Thursday for Kellen Sorber, who is charged with using fire to commit a felony.
It couldn’t be immediately determined whether Sorber had an attorney representing him.
Sorber is accused of vandalizing and setting fire to the Albany County GOP headquarters in downtown Laramie on Sept. 6.
No one was hurt in the fire.
Both Democratic and Republican party leaders in Laramie said they had never heard of Sorber, who is not a registered voter in Wyoming.
