More Details Released on July Police Shooting in Casper
Casper, WY. (AP) – Casper police say a 21-year-old man was pulling a gun from his waistband when he was shot by an officer in July.
KTWO-AM reports that Casper Police Chief Keith McPheeters released more details Tuesday on the July 10 shooting at a local gas station.
He says William T. McCollum led police on multiple pursuits through Casper and Evansville for about an hour that day before he was approached by officer Craig Burns.
McPheeters said the incident was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. It has been submitted to the Natrona County Attorney’s Office for review.
McPheeters added that the attorney’s office found Burns to have acted in accordance with the law.
