Obituary for Barabara Garhart

Graveside service for Barabara Garhart will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020 at Garhart Family Cemetery in Osage, WY. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020 at Meridian Mortuary in Newcastle, WY. To protect the health and safety of all, we will be limiting our visitation numbers to 10 people in the building at a time, as required by state and local authorities and the CDC. Barbara Elaine Garhart passed away on April 1, 2020 in Gillette WY. She was born May 20, 1941 in Gillette WY to George and Dorothy Roberts. Barbara Roberts grew up in Moorcroft, Wyoming and attended Moorcroft High School.  She met the love of her life Donald L. Garhart and married him on September 29, 1957. She constantly talked about how much she missed him after his passing in 1998. She kept his memory alive right up until her passing. Definitely an amazing love story! Through that union they had 7 children, Kevin Garhart (Sherry) of Newcastle; Phil Garhart of Lusk; Sherryl Van Horn (Dennis) of Gillette; Elaine Kaul (Kelly) of Gillette; Deanna Garhart of Gillette; Scott Garhart (Michelle) of Newcastle; and Paula Hovey (Lon) of Ranchester; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She had a passion for music. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, accordion and she loved to sing. She loved the Osage church and her church family. She played the organ and piano for the worship services at the church. She loved the bible and enjoyed a variety of bible verses.  George and Dorothy Roberts owned the grocery store on the hill outside of Moorcroft and Barbara worked there when she was growing up. She always talked about how much she enjoyed working with her mother at the store. Her favorite thing to do was to have the family together. Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. She was amazing at preparing meals for our large family and anyone else that wanted to eat. She raised not only her own children but helped raise about every other kid in Osage. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by so many of us! But it gives us great pleasure knowing that she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ!! Barbara is preceded in death by husband, Donald L Garhart; parents, George and Dorothy Roberts, brother, Roland Roberts, sisters, Darlene Forster, Marjorie Bock, and Delores Reeves; grandson, Bradley Garhart Abbe and Numerous nieces and nephews.
