Pedestrian Struck by Train in Rapid City Suffers Non-Life Threatening Injuries
Rapid City SD. – Rapid City Police investigated a train – pedestrian collision on Tuesday morning. The train came up from behind and struck a pedestrian who was walking on the rail bridge at Pressler Junction, near the intersection of 3rd and Omaha Street. Both the train and the pedestrian were traveling eastbound when the incident occurred. Police were on scene taking photos and gathering evidence, near the train engine, stopped on the New York Street rail bridge spanning Rapid Creek.
Police have stated that the pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to the hospital. The train has since been cleared from the scene and traffic has returned to normal.
