Wyoming lawmakers looking to make domestic violence penalties tougher

Cheyenne, WY.  –  Three proposed bills set to go before Wyoming lawmakers this Legislative session are geared toward changing penalties for domestic violence, stalking and strangulation.

One of the bills seeks to broaden the definition of stalking and to raise the maximum penalty for misdemeanor stalking and felony stalking. While one of the other two bills would increase the sentence for a first offense for domestic assault to six months, and increase the penalty for a second offense to a one year sentence.
